It's Durian Season

Durian season is here. You can find durian everywhere in Penang. I managed to get some durians at Richman's Market (Chai Leng Park, Perai) and share the moment with my cousins. To the left is Joanne, and to the right is Jason. Of course, the middle one is me, Charmaine.

What’s his name?

Daddy and mummy still couldn’t decide on his Christian name. The name has to carry a special meaning for he is special on his on way. Can anyone help?

Daddy’s preferences:
Ian, a variant of John, which means “God is gracious”.
Ivan, a variant of John.
Evan, a variant of John.
Ryan, which means “King”.

Mummy’s preferences:
Jonathan, which means “God gives”.
Ethan, which means “firmness, steadfastness, constancy”.
Evan, a variant of John
Ivan, a variant of John
Irwin, which means “boar friend”.

Grandpa proposed Ian. DaYi said preferably not Evan. SanYi said if don’t want Ian nor Evan, then choose Ivan loh...

Charmaine

Soft Toys

I’m teaching granny how to name some of my soft toys. From the left is the white rabbit, next are the Barney twins, follow by Ribenna Berry, Whats-Its-Name-Deer, Winnie the Pooh, and oops, where’s my favourite Roo the kangaroo?

A story worth sharing

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes.
When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open.
He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard.

His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter. The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its color and drank it all.
It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages.
When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital. He died.
The mother was stunned. She was terrified how she was going to face her husband.

When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just five words, "I am with you Darling".

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behavior. The child is dead.
He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother.Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband.
That is what he gave her. If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.

>>> MORAL OF THE STORY

>>>This story is really worth reading. Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out some warmth in human relationship.

Have a Blessed Christmas and New Year 2007 .....

Poh Poh & I at Pangkor Dutchfort

Mummy has to sing “if you’re happy and you know it smile ha ha” to make me smile to the camera. But why didn’t the song has effect on Poh Poh?

Teluk Nipah of Pangkor Island

My first encounter with the waves at the seaside… The sound and sight of the wave is beautiful. But it’s a weird feeling with my feet sinking into the sand the waves hit the shore... Papa said this natural beauty which money can't buy, you have to love and preserve it to enjoy it. I certainly wish this pretty sight would remain till the end of time...

Long Time No See Ah....

Mum and dad have been very very busy since June.

First, I finally started walking ~1wk after my first birthday. They simply don’t have the time to fork out the camera coz wherever I walk they have to watch out.

Next, was the house renovation in TI. That house is specially meant for me to stay. And I love it immediately when I step into this lovely home! Poor mum and dad went utterly broke for this but I guess it’s worth it.

Then, moving in to TI means mum and dad have to pack up and move out of Penang isle. Another big project that runs bit by bit every fortnight from July till October.

There was also several trips to Ipoh and the wedding of “xiao yi” on 2-Sep… bla.. bla... bla...
The conclusion is: mum and dad are totally occupied with everything except to snap pictures.

Sigh… you could have seen me singing and dancing along with “si qian jin”, running around at the playground, pointing to the fish in the pond saying “ish… ish…”, or to the stars saying “tah…”, and humming along with mum and dad on my favourite nursery rhymes. Show you some limited edition here lah.

Swimming

Fun time in the waters with cousins Leanne, Daniel and Darren. Of all places in Malaysia, we have to meet up so far up north at Holiday Inn, Batu Feringhi, Penang.

If U’re Happy

See how I clap my hands when the song tells me to. I can also make lotsa different sounds: barking like a dog, purr like a cat, chirp like a chick, mimicking the sound of the crow, and laughing aloud hahahahaha…

If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands (Clap! Clap!)
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands (Clap! Clap!)
If you’re happy and you know it then you really ought to show it
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands (Clap! Clap!)

2. …… (Woow! Woow!)
3. …… (Miao…)
4. …… 学鸡叫 (ji ji…)
5. …… (Wak! Wak!)
6. …… 笑一笑 (Ha ha…)

Sing me a song and I’ll dance for you 闻歌起舞

I’m only 15 months old and may not be able to sing you the entire song. But I know just when to show you my best act when you sing it for me… This action is part of the crab song from Si Qian Jin VCD.

Grant Aunties

Xiao Yi’s wedding in Ipoh. There were too many relatives to entertain but I couldn’t be bothered at all. All I cared for during that weekend was to cling to daddy like a koala bear.

At the Park 郊游

One of the few chances to run about freely ever since I could walk two months ago. I love watching the children at the playground, mum and dad enjoyed the sunset view from the jetty, and granny simply loved accompanying me. Lumut Waterfront Park is certainly a great place for us all!

My first birthday party

My first birthday was celebrated together with Ah Gong's 60th birthday. Loads of relatives were there. Mum & dad were so busy that i don't recall much posing for photo shots. Sigh... even this photo belongs to 2nd uncle.
