Ivan's Favourite Toy
Ivan's favourite toy recorded so far: Transformers Optimus Prime.
We got it from McDonald's Happy Meal and he loved it at once -- transforming it from robbot to truck and v.v. Mind u he has neither watch Transformers cartoon nor movies before.
He loves to bring it with him everywhere he goes and being careless, he had to call for a search team to retrieve it. Finally in March after the family reunion (with the Aussies), Optimus Prime was said to have left in Waipo's house. (Actually the toy has always been with mummy all the time.) He surely missed his toy. But at the same time he accepted the fact that he was indeed careless and therefore would have to wait... for a few months.
When the Transformer was returned to Ivan, it was finally better cared for this time. No more search team except for himself. It is the still first thing he would look for when he wakes up in the morning. And for that, he develops a habit of placing it next to the bed before going to sleep.
Good investment in Happy Meal!

Up Close with the Elephants at Kuala Gandah
Entry to this elephant sanctuary is FOC, but donation is welcome. I do wish many people will not only have the chance to be up close with the elephants, but also to contribute a part in wild life conservation.

kena marah
Someone told me that toddlers under 3 have super good EQ. Eugene has proven this fact.
He was told to leave the dining table after the last feed, At the very last minute, he grabbed a bowl of soup and whoala...all that could not be salvaged went to the floor. We paused for a moment, looking at the mess. I scolded him, beat him lightly on the naughty hand, and told him to stay aside while I cleaned up. He really did stood aside and kept really quiet.
After my final round of clearing up, I gave him a fierce and angry look. His face suddenly turned sour and started to cry! He knew he had made a mistake and that I was angry at him! He slowly came up to me, step by step, leaning against my knees, hoping that I would give him hug. But I did not budge (at the same time trying to hide my laughters). Only after he clung around me did I finally hug him.
Lastly, I showed him the place where the mess was created earlier, retold the story, and reminded him not to repeat the same mistake. His look was serious, no doubt! Being disciplined at 16mth old, hmmm, how much does he know about?!

CNY at the beach
Question: Who's the most willing to get dirty and dig into the sands?
Definitely not Charmaine and Ivan... Neither is Eugene...
Answer: It's daddy! Look at the products he dug from the sands.
We had a great feast of lala noodles...yummy!

Carnivors
Charmaine and Ivan are carnivors, just like Papa's family. Luckily Eugene was partly trained by Waipo to munch vege at a young age of 6-mth-old.
During Tze Yang's CNY visit, he brought some Bakkuah as gift. Who would ever reject this delicious delicacy in Sitiawan? Eugene also loves it! Listen to how he begged for a bite...
Nah...1 pc of bakkuah each...size: 10cm X 10cm...we offered the kids. XiaoYi saw this and said, "Whoa!!!! 2cm X 2cm for Tze Yang is more than enough!"

Birthday cake or bread?
Ivan's 3rd birthday cake was so special that he couldn't believe it... Mummy prepared it spontaneously from some leftovers -- the famous Carrefour potato bread (luckily still got 3 still beautifully attached) and lighted up with 3 recycled candles (from previous years users).
Listen carefully to his comments in this video clip...
