He was told to leave the dining table after the last feed, At the very last minute, he grabbed a bowl of soup and whoala...all that could not be salvaged went to the floor. We paused for a moment, looking at the mess. I scolded him, beat him lightly on the naughty hand, and told him to stay aside while I cleaned up. He really did stood aside and kept really quiet.
After my final round of clearing up, I gave him a fierce and angry look. His face suddenly turned sour and started to cry! He knew he had made a mistake and that I was angry at him! He slowly came up to me, step by step, leaning against my knees, hoping that I would give him hug. But I did not budge (at the same time trying to hide my laughters). Only after he clung around me did I finally hug him.
Lastly, I showed him the place where the mess was created earlier, retold the story, and reminded him not to repeat the same mistake. His look was serious, no doubt! Being disciplined at 16mth old, hmmm, how much does he know about?!
